Waiting On Wednesday: November 13

Waiting On Wednesday: Showcase books you can't wait to read!

The story that began with Unwind continues.

Connor and Lev are on the run after the destruction of the Graveyard, the last safe haven for AWOL Unwinds. But for the first time, they're not just running away from something. This time, they're running toward answers, in the form of a woman Proactive Citizenry has tried to erase from history itself. If they can find her, and learn why the shadowy figures behind unwinding are so afraid of her, they may discover the key to bringing down unwinding forever.

Cam, the rewound boy, is plotting to take down the organization that created him. Because he knows that if he can bring Proactive Citizenry to its knees, it will show Risa how he truly feels about her. And without Risa, Cam is having trouble remembering what it feels like to be human.

With the Juvenile Authority and vindictive parts pirates hunting them, the paths of Connor, Lev, Cam, and Risa will converge explosively and everyone will be changed.

I cannot wait to read this book, the third novel in the Unwind series. I'll forever hate myself for forgetting its release date and therefore missing my chance to buy it while I still had money. Somehow, I have to hold out and wait until Christmas. Until then, I'm going to be dying waiting to find out what happens! If you have yet to read the first two books, I highly recommend you get to it - you'll get so sucked in to the story, it won't take long to finish!

Waiting on Wednesday: Showcase books you can't wait to read!

The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

I've heard so much about this book, and it seems like it's been promoted really well, so I have high expectations for this! I bought it at Half Price Books a few weeks ago and I'll probably start it once I finish the books I'm currently reading.

The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
Pat has a theory: his life is a movie produced by God. And his God-given mission is to become physically fit and emotionally literate, whereupon God will ensure a happy ending for him -- the return of his estranged wife Nikki. (It might not come as a surprise to learn that Pat has spent time in a mental health facility.) The problem is, Pat's now home, and everything feels off. No one will talk to him about Nikki; his beloved Philadelphia Eagles keep losing; he's being pursued by the deeply odd Tiffany; his new therapist seems to recommend adultery as a form of therapy. Plus, he's being hunted by Kenny G!

I thought the movie was fantastic, so surely the book is even better!

Bossypants by Tina Fey
Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.

Tina Fey may be one of my favorite people on this planet. I'm a huge 30 Rock fan, so I'm excited to get to learn more about her through her autobiography!

Allegiant by Veronica Roth
One choice will define you. What if your whole world was a lie?
What if a single revelation—like a single choice—changed everything?
What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?

Unlike the others, this is a book that hasn't been released yet. It's the third and final book of the Divergent series, and I'm super-excited to read it, although it is bittersweet because I don't want it to end! If you haven't read Divergent and its sequel, Insurgent, I strongly recommend that you do before the third book comes out on October 22nd!

And finally, Marissa, Char, and I have noticed something on Goodreads...

Whaaat?! While I strongly doubt that release date is accurate, and we may not even be sure if it's true - we know John is working on another book, but can't anyone add a book on Goodreads? - just seeing it become more and more real is so exciting. John Green is one of my favorite authors but I'm sort of a newer fan, so this will be the first time I'll be really involved in one of his new releases, so I'm definitely pumped!

Waiting on Wednesday #4

This is a weekly event hosted by
Breaking The Spine.
A Farewell to Charms (Princess for Hire, #3)Have you ever just gone on Goodreads and looked at all the upcoming books? Practically drool over some of them? I have, SO much. That's why this event is one I can really relate to. Here's the book I'm waiting for this week!

A Farewell to Charms by Lindsey Leavitt
The final book in the Princess For Hire series. :(

Desi Bascomb is a princess substitute prodigy--she's the fastest employee ever to advance to level three in the Facade Agency, and the youngest to ever be a full-time sub. But now with all eyes on Desi, the only thing she wants is a moment alone to talk to Reed, who's a Facade legacy and secretly a sub for princes. As Desi trains for her new role, she spies more than a few cracks in Facade's perfect appearance. But uncovering the agency's dark past might require more than a princess sub can handle by herself. Desi is no damsel in distress, but sometimes a girl needs a knight in shining armor.

Releases June 26th! I recommend checking out the other two books in the series. You can read my review of the second here.

Now Is Good PosterI'm also waiting on the movie version of Before I Die, by Jenny Downham. That book is heart-wrenching, and I can't wait for Dakota Fanning to take the role on. For some reason, they changed the title to Now is Good. I don't even know if the movie will show near me, (my movie theaters are pretty limited) but I can't wait to see how the movie interpretation turns out!

Waiting on Wednesday #3

This is a weekly event hosted by Breaking The Spine.
Have you ever just gone on Goodreads and looked at all the upcoming books? Practically drool over some of them? I have, SO much. That's why this event is one I can really relate to. Here's the book I'm waiting for this week!

The Académie by Susanne Dunlap

The AcadémieEliza Monroe-daughter of the future president of the United States-is devastated when her mother decides to send her to boarding school outside of Paris. But the young American teen is quickly reconciled to the idea when-ooh, la-la!-she discovers who her fellow pupils will be: Hortense de Beauharnais, daughter of Josephine Bonaparte; and Caroline Bonaparte, youngest sister of the famous French general. It doesn't take long for Eliza to figure out that the two French girls are mortal enemies-and that she's about to get caught in the middle of their schemes.

Okay so this book came out in February, but I haven't seen it in any stores. It looks really interesting; and I can't help but be intrigued by any book that takes place in a boarding school. I hope to get this book soon!

What are you waiting on?
